Surf Grand Montréal’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on June 4, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. sharp.

Open positions

This year, five board seats are up for grabs. This is a golden opportunity to :

• Be at the heart of the decisions shaping the future of river surfing in Greater Montréal

• Help protect our local surf spots and stand up for the interests of the community

• Contribute to the growth of the river surfing scene—and grow along with it

One of the key roles we need to fill on the board is Treasurer. If you’ve got administrative skills, a head for numbers, or experience in accounting, you might be just the person we’re looking for.

Two of our committees are also seeking new volunteers :

• The Communications & Marketing Committee is looking for someone to handle sponsorships

• The Vague à Guy Committee needs a volunteer to help with its current projects

What to expect during the meeting

Here’s what will go down at the AGM :

• We’ll start by giving you an overview of what the Association and its Board of Directors are all about

  
  

• Then, you’ll get updates from each of our committees: Communications & Marketing, Habitat 67 Wave, Vague à Guy, Events, and Wave Creation

  
  

• We'll present our financial statements—including how much we raised through donations and the 2024 Classique event, what we spent, and where the money went

  
  

• We'll walk you through the changes we made to our bylaws this year, which we'll be submitting for approval

  
  

• After that, it’ll be time to elect new board members. Each candidate will have one minute to introduce themselves. There are five open positions. If there are more than five candidates, we’ll hold a vote. If not, candidates will be elected by acclamation.

  
  

• Finally, we’ll wrap up with an open forum. It’s your chance to ask questions, share thoughts, and—if you’re feeling inspired—volunteer for a committee!
